How to make your deck last longer
Landing
You can break your deck with just a flatland ollie (I am the example
). Now the best way to land is with both feet exactly above the trucks. If you land with your back foot on the tail again you have a big chance of snapping your tail (just believe me). You can also put one foot above a truck and put all the pressure on that truck (if you do the last thing and you put your pressure wrong you can still snap your tail). I personaly land on the far back bolts with my back foot and on the far front bolts with my front foot. but just remember to not put pressure on your tail/nose.
Secondly it's important to bend your knees when you land so you stress you board as less as possible
Slides
Never try darkslides on a rail:
1. Your deck will bent.
2. Your griptape will be ruined at the sides (don't worry about this, you can still skate on it).
3. Because you deck is concave, you will slide on the sides, so the pressure on the sides is pushing it upwards while your legs push it downwards. Result: a lot of stress on your deck and litte cracks will apear in your deck (you won't see them at first, but you will if you try) and after a lot of darkslides your deck will easely break with some boardslides (I am (again) the example for this).
This only applies for doing darkslides on rails, if you really want to do darkslides, do them on funboxes
Freestyle
If you are a serious freestyler and you like your deck then don't do the following tricks:
- Pogo hops
- Pogo spins
- Truckstand hops
- Truckstand spins
It will ruin your tail, definately
Other
Don't do powerslides on rough terain, your wheels will be ruined soon: do them on smooth terrain.
Don't scrape your tail while in manual or to brake, your tail will be gone soon.
If you want to do these tricks anyway: suit yourself, but I warned you.
Skateboarding is about having fun, if want to do things I just said were bad, go ahead, have fun, but your deck will last shorter

thanks these tips, im realy gonna use them |
look at people breaking their decks on youtube. look at the thickness of the board and decide whether the trick you want to attempt will need a thicker deck. |
Wow, I've noticed now why my decks usually break fast, even when they are good quality |
another one: When you need to brake, let your backfoot heel hang over the tail, so when you kick it down, you will break with your heel, you won't damage your deck and you will stop earlier. The only damage are small skids on your shoe soles. Let's be honest, either way, you change your shoes sooner than your deck. ..at least they're cheaper. Last edited by Maxis 5 months ago |

Plan B boards are the most durable and most lightweight i've seen. I have done a lot of those trick and my board hasnt broke yet i have to get new grip about one a year |
