How to get sponsored

Most skateboarders dream about getting sponsored.

This guide will give you some tips on how to find a sponsor.

Become awesome at skateboarding

Why would a company invest money in you? You have to be really good, or have a special style that can attract peoples attention.

In the end, they're not a charity, you're promoting their company by getting noticed by as many people as possible.

Be seen

If you're really good at skateboarding, get as many people to see you skate. Enter every skate competition you can (and win).

Another great way to get noticed is by making a skate video and send it to all the skateboard companies and shops you know. Note that the big companies receive a lot of videos and it will be difficult to get their attention.

Be nice

Frequently visit your local skateshop and have a nice chat with the people who work there.

If you ask to get sponsored after a while, they will already know (and hopefully like you) and be more inclined to accept your offer.

gonna start filming and reviewing the footage to see mistakes and how to make the tricks look better. then gonna give the footie to the skateshop in houston and see if they know of any skate comps that'll be goin down anywhere. now, i have to go tell my friend to quit lying to people about being sponsored when he's really not
