Shoe goo
Skate shoes are usually pretty durable, but the tip of your front foot will always get ripped open first.

I used to fix these holes by wrapping lots of duct tape around them, but it looked pretty nasty. No problem to skate at home, but everyone will stare at you in the skatepark.
Then I found out about Shoe Goo, a rubbery substance to fix shoe soles (but you can apply it to any part of a shoe). It's cheap, looks okay and actually fixes the holes instead of just hiding them.

Some people claim it will improve your skating, because it gives more "grip" when doing kickflips and other flip tricks. Feel free to try and share the results in the comment section below!
This stuff is illegal in some countries, so don't put it in your mouth or... other caveties.
One more tip: it's pretty difficult to apply shoe goo because it's so sticky, unless you apply it with ice cubes.
