Heelflip trick tip
The heelflip is the big brother of the kickflip. You flip the board with your heel instead of your toes, which most people find more difficult.
You don't need to know how to kickflip before you start learning the heelflip, but it helps if you do. Don't even think about learning this if you can't ollie.
(Video by Koen)
- 1
Start off like an ollie, with your front foot slightly more towards the tail, and your back foot a little more towards the nose.

- 2
Crouch down and pop the board.

- 3
Kick your front foot forwards and towards the nose. This should make the board flip.

- 4
Lift your legs up to give the board room to make the full rotation.

- 5
Lower your legs and stop the flip by catching your skateboard in midair.

- 6
Bend your knees to absorb the impact of landing.

Tips

If you kick your board away, try to adjust by putting your back foot more towards the nose.

Flip hard and fast and catch the board before it's on the ground for a clean landing.
